We had a wonderful New Year's sleep-over and pancake party with friends and Sam had tons of fun. So much fun, that he went a little nutso upon our return. In retrospect, it seems he has just been trying to ring in the new year his way, with free-flowing artistic expression! After a much abbreviated nap and a 30 minute meltdown for the record books, Sam spent rest of the afternoon joyously singing songs he was making up on the fly, with lyrics ranging from: "Goo, goo, goo, goo, goo," to "Me chickens in da house. La, lo, leeee!" After a couple hours of this, we decided to channel this wacky energy into some other forms of expression with the following results:

"Turtles Swimming in a Pool of Milk with a Little Maple Syrup"You may have deduced this on your own, but the artist maintained complete control over the titles for these works.

Oh, what fun! May all three of you have a joyous 2009. Goo, goo, la, lee, la.
Oh, I love the fact that Sam has so, so much to express! Be it singing and making up the lyrics, sharing hot dogs with the birds, cooking tacos for Mommy and Daddy, throwing snow at the trees...the list goes on and on. The painting of "Animals in the Food" smacks of pure joy and delight. Look at all those colors!
