Yee-haw!

Sam and I sure miss Daddy while he's away, but we're doing just fine thanks to good friends and all of the new activities we've been able to draw out of holiday gifts. Among other things, I've had more than my share of interesting concoctions from Chef Sam's new kitchen (pickle tacos with maple syrup, anyone?).

Towards the end of a wonderful visit from an old college friend and his family, I got the feeling Sam might have had enough when I snapped this picture:
To make up for all the grown-up talk, baby oogling and picture taking he'd endured, I said, "Okay Sam, the guests have left, now we can do whatever you want." He paused for a moment, then replied, "Mommy, take picture wif Sam and toys." Okay, then. With great seriousness, Sam proceeded to pose with all of his favorites and then patiently waited while I showed him the results. I'll spare you all but one from the collection:
After the unusual photo shoot, with my full attention still engaged, Sam grabbed my hand and said, "Mommy, me do 'yee-haw'. Me ride horse." Again...not what I was expecting, but that leads me to this a simple little pick-me-up for anyone who needs a chuckle. (Sorry, but you'll have to tilt your head.)
