The Snowy Day

It was a rare and wonderful snowy day here in Seattle. Sam was slightly perplexed at first, but once Jess came over to play in the snow with us and the neighborhood kids came out in force, he had a wonderful time. Sam's new favorite way to enjoy the snow? Throwing it at trees and laughing hysterically when it sticks. Why not? And since snow is pretty rare in this rainy city and sleds are not terribly common, Sam got to take his first sled-like ride in our neighbor's fabulous creation: the detached base of an exersaucer. Brilliant!

We also got to spend a great evening downtown enjoying all of the holiday sights and sounds with adorable baby Bailey and her entourage. (Sadly, the pictures we took did not do the event justice.) Sam particularly enjoyed the gingerbread house display with...hold on to your seats, folks...a firetruck made entirely of candy! It was all we could do to pry him away. But the big hit of the evening? The wheelchair ramp leading to the parking garage elevators. It was 20 minutes of magical holiday, up and down and up and down and up and down fun! I imagine we'll miss these simple pleasures in years to come...

All told, it was a wonderful snowy day.

Now how weird is it that you got enough white stuff to play with before we did? So glad you had such a fun time- and that pic of you and Sam is too cute!
