Let's celebrate with finger paint and shumai!

It's Keith's 31st birthday today, so I get to post a silly picture of him!

By the time Keith got home from work, Sam had learned how to say "Happy Birthday Daddy," which he employed quite adorably before leading him directly to where I was hiding the cake I'd just finished decorating. I guess keeping secrets is a little out of range, developmentally-speaking.

To celebrate I got out the fingerpaints earlier in the day so Sam could dedicate his very first painting to dear old Dad. Turns out, Sam prefers that fingerpaint does not actually touch his fingers, so a paint brush was employed instead. The first picture shows the reaction to skin-on-paint contact, and the second, the finished product. (Unfortunately the video I shot is not uploading.)

We started the birthday dinner with some shrimp shumai that I thought Sam might enjoy. Well, 'enjoy' hardly captures the experience. Our little foodie was requesting "more simp su-maiiiiiy pease!" and wolfing it down.

In closing, Happy Birthday, Daddy! We love you.
