Happy New Year!

Happy New Year indeed. The Parman trip to Mimi and Grampa's for Christmas and New Years was a delight. Okay, flying with an 11-month-old has its challenges. But Sam's love of all things kitchen--from the whisk to the spatula to the newly-discovered turkey baster (oooh!) kept Sam and our seatmates pretty well entertained.

Much celebrating was had by all, and Sam really seemed to soak in everyone with curiosity and grace. Mimi and Grampa were wonderfully generous with their time and their space (not to mention their cooking!)--thanks so much--and Ben, Nicole, and Jamie were bundles of fun. Emily, Mariana, Joe, Brent, Brian, Matt, and Beth, not to mention Ben, Kate, and Mrs. Turtle all enriched Sam's stay back east. It's clear that celebrating these occasions with all you wonderful folks is far more enjoyable with the baby out in the world than, as in last year's experience, stubbornly incubating in the womb. Thanks, Sam, for joining us and sharing in the revelry!

Here are a couple shots from the many events:

Sam's first Christmas morning--awww!

Sam and Jamie lounging bean-bag style--note the suave velour jumpsuit.

Amy got us in the New Years mood with arts and crafts. Check out the stylish crowns.

We found a stowaway in the luggage just hours before departure.

As we get more photos from friends and fam, we'll put together an album collecting the greatest hits of the trip. Best wishes, all, for 2008!

We had a wonderful time with you three- too! Jamie still insists he could have fit in that suitcase, if only I'd zipped it up. We all miss you tremendously already. We love you "all the way to Saturn", to quote Master James...all that way and to infinity and beyond!
Love, Aunt Nickle
