What do Guitars, Bathtime and Beansprouts have in Common?

Not much. But somehow they all find their way into this post. So read on...

Keith introduced Sam to his acoustic guitar this week and our little guy was happily doing his best to strum along within no time. It turns out that the other Keith in our life, Sawyer's dad, is quite the musician as well. Sam and Sawyer had a blast at our impromptu guitar party and you can tell by Sam's expression in the first picture below that he really loves music.

And while we're on the subject of things Sam loves, I'll take a detour to mention a new and unexpected DISlike. All of the sudden, Sam is terrified of taking a bath. He absolutely loved bathtime until last week, but now he is terrified-- crying, desperately clinging to his parents, trying to hurl himself out of the tub-- I'm serious, and luckily this is not behavior we see from him at any other time. We're totally scratching our heads about this. Any experts out there have thoughts to share?

In other family news, we're getting ready for our big trip back East to celebrate Christmas and New Years with the Parlins. We might be out of touch on the blog front for awhile, but we'll be thinking of everyone we love. In particular, we're sending LOTS of love to Eric and Heather, who are getting ready (any day now!) to welcome their little "Beansprout" into the world! We can't wait to hear the good news :)

CONGRATULATIONS ERIC AND HEATHER! Wow! That's great news!

Glad to hear Sam is hip to the music vibe. Maybe his bohemian spirit has awakened, hence his aversion to bathtime.

Um... he coulda had a nightmare about baths. He seems young for it, but I don't think he's too young. (Folks more expert than I: am I wrong about that?) Try showering with him! We prefer a sweet-smelling Sam.

Can't wait to see you guuuuuys!
