This is not to say that Sam is no longer ego-centric, as all toddlers are, but rather, that we no longer hear the adorable "Me is going to sleep now in me big boy bed," "Me is playing with me firetrucks," etc. Now we're squarely in the land "I". Luckily Sam-speak is still adorable because it comes from the same adorable little guy.
Speaking of our adorable little guy, his devotion to music has really taken off and when he's not chattering away, he's playing his guitar (which doubles as a cello and a violin depending on the day) and making up songs. Yesterday he took his guitar with him on all of our afternoon errands, and I can report that you get MUCH better service at hardware stores when accompanied by a curly headed crooner serenading the aisles.
His most recent hits include the following snappy lyrics:
"Rocky rocking boat, going to save the day. Rocky rocking boat is a big rescue boat!"
and my personal favorite,
"This is my song. You have to listen to me. Listen to me, listen to me, listen to me because this is what I am doing!"
Hope this finds you all well. Sending love!

We will miss the "Me" phase, too. And we are psyched to see and sing along with Mr. I.
Nana! That is just about the same thing I was going to say...just the idea of Sam in the store, strumming his guitar, makes me smile. I know you are going to see them soon...have a wonderful love fest!
PS: Once again, to Amy and Keith...thanks so much for shortening the distance with your news and photos. I can not tell you how much we love them! (and you!)
Ah, he enters the land of "I." Me likes that Sam is so musical.
I think that's actually the song Jonah is singing - "listen to me!" - he just doesn't enunciate very well yet. I can't wait to see you guys again and catch up with little Sam!
