We're winding down here in Seattle and while Keith and I toil away behind the scenes (moving is hard work, people!) we're trying to keep things hunky dory in Sam town. Before we leave, we'll post some pictures from the many wonderful get-togethers and adventures we've had lately, but in the meantime, here are some new Sam-isms that bear recording:
"Here's the deal..." (as in its first iteration: "Here's the deal about hoses, Mommy. They squirt water")
"Actually..." (typically delivered with slight condescension: "Actually, that is a pumper truck NOT a hose truck, Daddy.")
"Now let's talk about ME" (pretty self-explanatory)
"Let's chat." (usually deployed when the parent in charge is trying to check e-mail or put away dishes)
"How was YOUR day, Daddy? What did you do on campus?" (we're now holding very long and involved dinner conversations where Sam is the primary interrogator-- what a trip!)
He's also using some wild words appropriately in conversations, including: similar, usually, often, sometimes and instead. Of course there are also the the toddler classics: poop, pee-pee, poopypeepeepoopypeepee, etc.
Anyone else think we're going to be in for a long car trip down to Berkeley??? All joking aside, we love his chatty nature and are having a great time hearing all about what is on his mind these days.

"Here's the deal?" OMG, are you in for it! Sam's vocabulary is off the charts! Maybe you'd better stock up on audio books at Powell's before you make the trek south ;-)
I can't wait to see Jamie and Sam at the Bay...I can imagine they will have wonderful discussions! You both have done a wonderful job of encouraging conversations at dinner...what a good thing! Love to you all...I wish I could help you more now...guess I can just continue to send good vibes!
