In Mook We Trust

Sam at the aquarium this morning, with "Mook" the sea otter.

Lately, it's all about Mook. As best we can deduce, "Mook" is just the funniest sound Sam can think of, and he applies this name liberally to get a laugh. A few examples of recent silliness:

Mommy: Sam, what would you like for lunch?
Sam: Mook and mook wif bread! (Giggle, giggle)
or
Daddy: You're silly.
Sam: Me Mook! Mook! Mook! Me Mook! (Laugh, snort, laugh)
or
Mommy: Sam, what does this say? (pointing to his name on a nametag)
Sam: S-A-M, pells (spells)....MOOK! (Chortle, chortle)

In general, Sam has been heading further into silly town lately, and I dare say he has arrived. He's got the lyrics down cold for several of his favorite songs, but Sam's newest pleasure is to sing these songs with made-up words, pausing occasionally to laugh hysterically at his own joke. Mixing up the alphabet song is his favorite-- hearing himself sing, "A, B, D, Q, P, Z!" can literally bring Sam to his knees with a giggle fit.

When not laughing, he's asking a bezillion questions. Exhausting, but cool just the same. Most of his questions revolve around "Name this...", "Pell this..."(meaning, what letter does this word start with?), or "Mommy tell Sam, what .... be doing?" The inquisition reaches a frenzy in new and exciting situations, so, after our trip to the aquarium this morning, I can assure you that I am totally wiped out. So, in closing, I will leave you with these additional pictures and a simple request: If you have any questions, please don't ask me! At least not this week.
Is it wrong to eat fish crackers at an aquarium?
"Mommy, me have big, big, BIG occa-pust"
I'll give you one guess what he named this fishLuckily they encourage sticking your hand in the tank!
