We have no cute pictures or adorable videos to share tonight, but it seemed important to record these three facts for posterity:
1.- Sam is now sleeping in a big boy bed. This was, as it turns out, a much bigger deal for Mom and Dad than it was for Sam. We probably wasted a cumulative five to ten hours worrying and planning for the transition which was greeted with a "gee, that's neat" attitude.
2.- Sam has started affecting a pseudo-British accent at various points during the day. Seriously. It is totally bizarre and nearly impossible not to laugh when he talks like this. Hard to describe...but use your imagination, and I bet you'll be close.
3.- As of tonight, we've been instructed to call our young son Gabrielle. Yeah, really. I'm sure it will be something else tomorrow (he's all about the role play at the moment), but it was a pretty strange evening.

So, I spent a good many minutes figuring out which TV/movie character named Gabrielle puts on a fake British accent sometimes, before bothering to read #3. Whoops! But Yay Sam for the big boy bed! Such funny stories!
Sure. I figure it's Gabriel (although maybe he's channeling his feminine side). Gabriel is one of the few "angels" celebrated in the Christian, Islamic, and Jewish traditions, not to mention B'Hai. That's our Sam -- child of the world and master of the "big boy bed."
Oh Gabriel's mommy...cherish the moments no matter how strange...Sam has a wonderful imagination. I would love to know if he is still Gabriel today...or maybe he might claim to be an ice cream cone! (For those of you who want to know...when Amy was two or three years old, we asked her what she wanted to be when she grew up she replied simply, "an ice cream cone!"....what a wonderful memory.)
Thanks for all the fun comments! Just for the record books, though, it really was "Gabrielle"-- feminine side fully channeled! Although today he was "Jack," so go figure...
