Six Months!

Can YOU believe Milo is already six months? We're certainly surprised to find ourselves half way through the first year and this gives us a chance to reflect on who this little guy is turning out to be. So far we have observed the following:

-Smilo is a very apt nickname indeed. This is one smiley baby and he spreads much joy as a result! The grocery store is his favorite place to smile and be smiled at these days and it really is fun to behold the reactions he gets most places we go.

-Food is very much appreciated although there is a preference for all things orange and some skepticism over all things green.

-Milo continues to be a kicker- and lying on his back and loudly thumping the floor with his feet while he plays with toys is a favorite past time. He's quick to roll from front to back and is close to going both ways. He's also sitting up pretty well until he notices he's doing it at which point he quickly topples over.

-He has a serious preference for one particular book (particularly lame, if you ask his parents!) called "Peekaboo Kisses" which he would rather listen to five times in a row than sit through any of the other books we've tried. "Peekaboo! I see fluffy kitten kisses!," etc.

-Milo is still a light sleeper and still pretty unpredictable in the duration and timing of his sleep. Sometimes good, sometimes not so good, but always a bit of a crapshoot as far as we can tell. A stark contrast to his brother who you could set a clock by.

-Milo is FINALLY okay in the car (happy, happy, joy, joy, happy, happy, joy, joy!) and loves the front-facing Bjorn. We're still working up to the stroller which has thus far been deemed unacceptable by Mr. Particular.

-If Milo could choose, he would have mom in clear sight at all times. We're expecting that when separation anxiety hits it is going to be ugly. When he has all three family members around him though? Pure delight.

-And speaking of family...Milo adores his older brother. Sometimes the dinosaur roars can be a bit much, but most of their interactions are totally sweet and you really can see a relationship developing.

So, there it is. Six months and growing. We are so lucky to have this wonderful person in our lives!

That is so, so sweet! And we are so, so lucky to be able to love you all so, so much! Milo has a lot to smile about...adoring grandparents, loving aunts and uncles, wonderful parents, super-duper big brother and a sunny outlook (especially now that the car seat is not such a big deal...hooray!)

Thank you for all these Milo-stones. They bring us closer to him and to you and Sam. You "capture the moment" so beautifully. I truly cannot express how grateful I am.
