Four, Quatre, Vier, Ar'baa, Cuatro, Dalet

It is hard to believe that our Sam is now four years old! One week ago, we celebrated in style with a gymnastics party shared with birthday buddy Sydney and most of their preschool class. This was preceded by cupcakes at school and, per Sam's request, a sushi feast with Nana and Pop-Pop (far and away the most highly anticipated of all three birthday events!). Below he is Knight Lightening the Dragon Fighter eating some cake and also sitting with Sydney, eagerly waiting for the big party to begin:

Here is a link to see more pictures of the events of the weekend.

We are amazed at the little boy our first baby has become. As you can imagine, the big party was running, jumping, noisy, happy chaos, and it was a joy to see him so happy in a setting that reflects just how much he has grown and changed over the past year. Sam still has an incredible imagination, a precocious vocabulary and a sponge for a brain, a deep love of books, an appreciation for good food, a very silly sense of humor that is often shared only at home, and a seriousness in many situations that is at turns comical and challenging. What is new over the past year is a love of movement and physical play, an intense and impressive focus on all things prehistoric, increased social flexibility (relatively speaking!) and a strong desire to forge friendships with his peers.

What a year! What a kid! What lucky parents! We love you Sam!!!
