A Koala Kind of Day

Upon waking this morning, I was greeting with the following enthusiastic declaration:

"Mama! I'm a female koala!"

Umm....okay? Keith just nodded knowingly and smiled. In the next breath, Sam was "calling for a mate" and "munching on eucalyptus" in the living room. What an interesting start to my day! We have a book called "A Koala Grows Up," but I can assure you that it took me a few pre-coffee minutes to make that connection.

The rest of the day was blissful. The sun was shining and Sam was in a wonderful mood (which has been harder to come by over the past month!). We had a wonderful time in the botanical gardens (we went, in part, for the eucalyptus leaves to feed our little female koala), riding on Tilden Park's steam train and then the always popular lunch at Barney's.

Now we are getting very excited for Aunt Nickle and Jamie's visit next weekend and can't wait to have them with us. Hooray!

Hi, Keith, I've heard of a monkey on your back, but a female koala....? Hee-hee. Glad that Nicole and Jaime are coming for a visit. Enjoy.
