Sam continues to exercise his imagination and, while some aspects of this age are *ah-hem* a bit trying at times, we're really enjoying that an empty box can turn into an hour of fun. Even though Sam clams up a bit whenever we start taking a video (Uncle Ben, we need your help rigging a device to gather covert footage!), here's a taste of what the most recent box became:
Sam also made his very first "machine" the other day. It is a bit hard to explain but it involved an empty paper-tower role, a 3-ring binder-style cookbook, a small ball and a bucket which, when assembled, kept him entertained for well over 30 minutes. Fun!

All five of the little firemen are proud to have Sam on board..with a clang, cling, clang, and a who-o-o-o-o! Wow, Amy: you made both the firetruck and the fireman ;-)
Very cute! It's amazing what magic markers and a little imagination can do! So...wait, where was the clammed up part??
Boy, that fireman costume has gotten very well used by our favorite fireman. Did you know that the cardboard box was voted one of the best "classic toys"? It was right up there with the "Big Wheel Bike"! Anyway, Sam's imagination and Mommy's ingenuity and patience are much to be admired! Hooray!
I should have something for you when I see you in december
