Sam had his first introduction to balloons and, take our word for it, he went a little nutty over them. After the peaceful gazing eyes of wonder you see in the picture above, he turned into an absolute madman, desperately trying to hold on to them, lurching this way and that in our arms, almost frantic. (And pretty funny). He has a similar affinity for balls of all kinds-- he just goes wacky when they are within reach. Not a milestone, per se, but we thought it was worth sharing.
So, the balloons were to help guests find our townhouse for Keith's big 30th birthday bash. We had a great time with all of our friends here in Seattle and, you *might* be able to tell from the other picture that mom and dad were just the slightest bit happy to have some adult time. Yay for Sam, who slept through the entire thing!

Oooooh, balloons! It's so lovely when Sam's awake and so lovely when Sam's asleep. Glad he was asleep at just the right time :)
I agree Nana! Happy Birthday Keith, 30 (can it really be?) seems to agree with you and all your dear family. Much happiness, love to all.
Starting when Jamie was 10 months we had balloon Sundays for over a year and a half for the same crazy reaction reason. Total gleeful spastic rampage!!!
Happy birthday Keith - we're so glad you were born.
You are the most amazing family. We love you happy people so much! Enjoy!

Great photo of the 'smiling-good-times' folks! I envy Sam's introduction to the world of balloon physics!
